Chelsea have been active in the summer transfer window as they prepare for the return of Champions League football to the club.
The Blues, under Enzo Maresca, have so far completed the signings of six players. Kendry Paez, Mamadou Sarr, Estevao, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro have all arrived at Stamford Bridge so far, although Paez has completed a loan move to French side Strasbourg.
Chelsea are closing in on their seventh signing of the window with Ajax defender Jorrel Hato close to completing a switch to Stamford Bridge. The 19-year-old is set to sign a seven year contract, with the Blues having agreed a £37 million fee, before add-ons, with the Dutch club.

The signing of Hato will take Chelsea’s reported spending this summer to over £237 million. But they are not done yet, with more signings still expected to follow.
The next transfer is likely to see them push ahead with a move for RB Leipzig forward Xavi Simons. Chelsea have been in talks with the German club over a move for the player for some time.
Simons is said to be keen on a move and was left out of the weekend’s friendly match against Atalanta amid speculation over his future. football.london reported this week that the Blues are preparing to make an opening bid for Simons.
It’s reported that Leipzig are after a price of around £60 million for the forward who scored 10 times and provided seven assists in 25 Bundesliga appearances last season. If Chelsea meet that price, then the transfer will see Chelsea’s spend rise to around £297 million.
The £300 million barrier could potentially be broken later in the window, with Chelsea continuing to be linked with Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.
