Countdown for Vande Bharat Sleeper Train begins, time to run on track has come.

Railways has started preparations to run the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train. The Railway Minister has made it clear that this train will start running on the track from next month i.e., September 2025. The trial run of this train has also been completed.

Indian Railways is soon going to add a new name to its network of semi high-speed trains. In fact, seeing the tremendous popularity of Vande Bharat Express, the Railways has now decided to start Vande Bharat Sleeper Train. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced in Bhavnagar, Gujarat that Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will start running from September 2025. This news is special for those passengers who wanted the facility of comfortable sleeper coach in Vande Bharat during long distance travel.

Was waiting for a long time

Vande Bharat Express is known for its speed and modern facilities, but till now it was running only as a chair car (sitting seat) train. Passengers used to face inconvenience in travelling while sitting in long distance travel and this problem used to increase more at night. To overcome this shortcoming, the Railways has started preparations to run the Vande Bharat Sleeper train. The Railway Minister has made it clear that this train will start running on the track from next month i.e. September 2025. The trial run of this train has also been completed and now some final technical tests and commissioning process is going on. As soon as this process is completed, the train will be available to the passengers.

What will be special in Vande Bharat Sleeper Train?

Vande Bharat Sleeper Train has been prepared by BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Limited) at Integral Coach Factory (ICF). This train will be fully air-conditioned (AC) and will have 16 coaches. These coaches have been divided into three categories.

AC First Class: The most premium and comfortable coach, in which passengers will get special facilities.

AC Second Tier: Medium level coach, which will be the best combination of comfort and convenience.

AC Three Tier: Affordable, but coach equipped with modern facilities.

1128 passengers will be able to travel in the train simultaneously. Every coach has been designed in such a way that passengers get complete comfort even in long distance travel.

These facilities will be available in Vande Bharat Sleeper

Vande Bharat Sleeper train will have many such facilities, which will make it different from other trains. Railways has equipped this train with modern technology and passenger facilities. Let's know about them.

Touch-free bio-vacuum toilet: Complete attention has been given to cleanliness and hygiene.

Attendant button: Facility to call the attendant immediately for any help to the passengers.

Modular pantry: To further improve the food and drink facilities.

CCTV: CCTV cameras will be installed in the train for security.

Charging port: Facility to charge mobile and laptop on every seat.

Apart from these, the railways have provided a very special facility in this train, which will be seen for the first time in the history of Indian Railways. Actually, in the AC First Class of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, passengers will get the facility of hot water for bathing. This facility will be very beneficial especially for those traveling long distances in the winter season.

Suspense still on the route

The railways have not yet clarified on which routes the first Vande Bharat Sleeper train will run. The Railway Board will soon take a decision in this regard. It is believed that this train will run on those routes where the demand for long distance travel is high. These may include busy routes like Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Howrah or Mumbai-Ahmedabad.
