YouTube has announced a new artificial intelligence (AI) feature for content creators on its platform. Under this feature, creators will now be able to generate custom instrumental music for their videos themselves. This new tool is part of the Creator Music tab of YouTube Studio and will be available to all creators for free, although this feature is being rolled out gradually, so it may take some creators a few days to use it.
What is YouTube's AI music generation tool?
YouTube gave information about this feature through a video on its Creator Insider channel. This AI tool aims to give creators more and better instrumental music options that they can add to their videos. Without any copyright concerns.
New change in the Creator Music tab
A copyright-free music library is already available in the Creator Music tab. In this, users can search music based on genre, mood, vocals, BPM, duration, etc., however, some tracks also require payment. Now a new section named AI-based "Music Assistant" has been added to this tab.
It has a page with a Gemini sparkle icon where users can write in text what kind of music they want, like video topic, mood, length, etc. The company did not tell which AI model is running this tool, but YouTube is saying that the prompts written by the user will be stored on the server for 30 days so that the system can be improved.
