The Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) pacer, , played his debut match for the franchise in IPL 2025 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 28. He was a part of the squad back in 2009 but never played any game for them.

However, he represented the franchise in the Champions League 2009, where he got to play one game. A video was shared by IPL on social media where Bhuvneshwar opened up about re-joining the team and the emotions he went through.

As per the pacer, it didn't feel like a 'new' team. The player received a warm welcome from his teammates. He also shed light on his journey with the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and how it felt to win the trophy with them, further adding that he wishes to replicate the same with RCB as well.

"I still remember that a young boy was picked for the first time (to play for RCB) in South Africa. Then again, that memory got fresh (when I came back in 2025), from the first IPL I had, and I didn't feel like it was a new team. I think when you play IPL, you stay somewhere to win the trophy. And that was quite special because generally, it's not over till it's over. The 10-11 years journey was quite special. To play for a team for so many years. Everything I did for the other team (SRH), I want to do it for this team (RCB) this year," the Meerut-born said.

RCB didn't make me feel awkward: Bhuvneshwar

In 2016, Bhuvneshwar was playing with when they won the trophy, and RCB were the opposition in the finals. It was a memorable season for the player as he claimed 23 wickets in 16 games at an average of 21.30. A season later, he claimed 26 wickets in 14 matches. Bhuvneshwar has had an incredible journey with SRH in the league. The Uttar Pradesh cricketer mentioned that he felt a bit 'awkward' playing with RCB after spending 11 years with the 2016 champions.

"After playing with the 11-year-old team, I feel a little unusually awkward, but RCB didn't make me feel that way. They did good not just to me, but for everyone in the team, which is quite good. As a human being, we want to meet more people like that. But on the field, off the field, in my personal life, I am satisfied. 100% No regrets, no complaints," the senior pro concluded.

The pacer will next be seen playing during the Match 20 of the tournament between RCB and Mumbai Indians. The game between the arch-rivals will be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday, and the seamer would want to make it a memorable one.
