What to do and what not to do in Jitiya Vrat
According to religious beliefs, the first day of Jitiya Vrat is Nahai-Khaai, so take a bath before sunrise on this day and eat satvik food.
Take special care of cleanliness during the three days of Jitiya Vrat and do not keep any corner of the house dark.
Since this fast is waterless, the fasting person should not consume water or any food items.
During this time, avoid quarrels, disputes, or fights in the family; this increases negativity in the house.
Eating any kind of food is prohibited before fasting.

According to religious beliefs, do not consume garlic, onion, non-vegetarian food, etc. during the fast, and do not let them come in the house.
On the main day of Jitiya Vrat, women should keep a waterless fast from sunrise to sunrise the next day, and only then should they break their fast.
During this period, do worship Jitiya Devi in the evening and recite her story. This is very auspicious.
Charity has special importance in this fast, hence you can donate food, clothes and other essential items as per your capacity.
