Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh won a total of 19 medals including 13 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze in Canoe Sprint. The finals of three matches were held in Dragon Boat. MP won two gold medals. Odisha secured the second place and Kerala stood third.
It was part of the 35th National Canoe Sprint Junior Women Men and Sub Junior Competition, 13th National Dragon and 18th National Para Canoe Competition are being organised by Madhya Pradesh Kayaking and Canoeing Association and Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association.
Around 1300 players from all over the country have participated in the three events.
In the 1000m Junior Men C-1, Sushil Kumar from MP won the gold medal. Similarly, in the K-2 event, Aditya Singh and Manjeet Metai from MP won the gold medal. In K-4, the quartet of Santosh, Abhishek Arya, Rohan Yadav and Sachin from MP won the gold medal.
Similarly, in C-2, the pair of Prince and Sudhir from MP won the gold medal. In the women's category too, the dominance from MP players remained intact. In K-1, Dali Vishnoi of MP won the gold medal, in K-1, the pair of Dali Vishnoi and Chandrakala Kushwaha won the gold medal.
In C-1, Deepika Dhimar won the gold medal. Deepika Dhimar, Janaki Lawaria, Masuma Yadav and Divyangi Jat won gold medal for MP in C-4.
