A man was seriously injured in a brutal axe attack in Jhinjhana, Shamli on Sunday when an assailant struck him multiple times in an reportedly unprovoked assault. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear in the village as the attacker reportedly continues to roam freely.
According to reports, Sarfaraz, a resident of Toda village in Jhinjhana, was sitting outside a house on Sunday when Govind suddenly attacked him with an axe. The assailant struck Sarfaraz multiple times on his face, neck, and shoulders, leaving him severely injured.
A CCTV footage of brutal assault has surfaced on line showing the accused hacking the man with axe.
After the attack Govind fled the scene. Sarfaraz's mother alleged that during the attack, Govind repeatedly threatened her son, shouting, "Save yourself if you can, this is how I'll kill you." She further stated that a small child was sitting near Sarfaraz during the attack and could have been harmed as well.
The victim's family has appealed to the police for protection, claiming they are receiving continuous threats and fear for their lives.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Jhinjhana police arrived at the scene, arranged for the injured youth to be taken to the hospital for treatment, and deployed police forces in the village.
Sarfaraz had made objectionable remarks about the accused's sister: Police
Shamli Police, in a statement on Monday stated, "In connection with the incident, a case has been registered at Police Station Jhinjhana under relevant sections. The injured person has undergone a medical examination. The condition of the injured is completely normal and out of danger."

Police said that the primary investigation reveals that the injured made objectionable remarks about the accused's sister. "Investigative proceedings in the case are ongoing. Teams have been formed to arrest the accused during the course of evidence collection, and the arrest will be ensured at the earliest," said police.
