Next week viewers will see , as bows out after more then a decade in the role. It's teased he could be killed off, as the fan favourite is left fighting for his life after a cruel and brutal attack.
In emotional and "shockingly dark" episodes, residents will be distraught to learn police officer Craig has been attacked and left for dead. The soap are not revealing whether Craig survives his brush with death or if he will sadly lose his life.
What is known is that Craig is rushed to hospital in a bad way and soon his condition takes a turn for the worse, in scenes that will leave fans on the edge of their seats and willing Craig to stay alive. Our soap source has teased: "Fans can expect heart-racing scenes that will also be pretty difficult to watch from the start.
"It's hinted that poor Craig gets caught in the crossfire amid Kit Green and Mick Michaelis' deadly feud, and it's not just Craig in the firing line too. Fans can sure expect events to take a shockingly dark turn as more than one resident faces danger, and Mick vows to murder Kit."

It all kicks off in the aftermath of Kit and Mick's past being exposed in a flashback episode. As the secrets of their teenage years come to light, we get an understanding of what Mick has over Kit, and why they drifted apart.
Not only that but there's major hints of a paternity bombshell that could cause chaos. Mick is left rattled by something Kit says when things are already simmering between them, and soon enough Mick wants Kit dead.
Craig is one of a few characters facing danger, and it seems he could be dealt the wrath of Kit and Mick's heated rivalry. "It's really brutal what happens to Craig, and what follows are highly emotional scenes," our soap source teased.
"Viewers will be with Craig every step of the way willing for him to make it, and for willing him to expose the person behind it. It's a really tense and action-packed week, with high drama, distressing scenes and jaw-dropping moments.
"If it's unmissable telly that Corrie fans are after, then this is the week to tune in!" It comes after reports that Craig would be killed off, after Colson was axed from the show last year.
Colson is now excited to see fans watch his final episodes. He teased: "I can’t wait for people to see Craig’s final scenes. It is exactly the exit I wanted for him and we are all really proud of what we filmed in those final weeks. It was actually great fun.
"I was walking around covered in fake blood for days and I was chuffed that I got to work with so many brilliant people in this final storyline." Viewers will have to tune in next week to find out if Craig dies, or if he will leave Weatherfield alive.
There will also be emotional scenes for Craig's colleague DS Lisa Swain in the fallout to Craig's attack, as the detective struggles to cope with what's gone on. "Lisa is taken aback by the severity of Craig's injuries," revealed our soap insider.
"She visits him at the hospital and she can't believe the state he is in, it really concerns her. She's told Craig has swelling on his brain and is in intensive care and soon after he deteriorates. She's left in turmoil, as are all of those who care about him."
Viewers will see Lisa confide in her girlfriend Carla Connor in moving scenes as she attempts to process her friend's attack. As Lisa breaks down, she tells Carla: "If we knew today was our last day on earth, what would we do differently? There isn’t always more time." The tragic incident encourages Lisa not to put things off and grab happiness while she can, not knowing what could be around the corner.
