George Russell showed off one of the many perks of being a leading driver as he posted photos of his brand new hypercar. His personalised Mercedes-AMG One is one of just 275 made by the German firm and it's clear that this particular unit was always destined to be owned by the Brit.
, who drives for the F1 team, is now able to go from zero to 60mph in just 2.8 seconds - only marginally slower than an idea pit stop - thanks to the fact he now owns a car which costs around £2.5million to buy brand new.
That speed comes from a turbocharged V6 engine unlike any other that can be found in a road vehicle. That's because it is a modified version of the power units that were made for Mercedes' F1 cars, which Russell alluded to as he posted photos of his new motor on social media.
"My dream car!" he wrote. "The Mercedes-AMG One! So honoured to own this car and it's been a dream of mine ever since I joined Mercedes F1 back in 2017. Crazy that the engine is a modified version from our 2015 F1 car - the first ever Mercedes F1 car I drove. What a beast!"
Russell is one of several Mercedes stars who is now the proud owner of the company's flagship hypercar. , who won the 2016 title with the team, has one, as does who won 10 races across five seasons as team-mate to .

If they were to ever park side by side, though, there could be no mistaking which one belongs to the current Mercedes racer. Russell's machine is black and sports his racing number 63 on the side of the car. The same number is also embroidered into the leather seats inside.
Other cool touches include a 'DRS' button on the steering wheel, and settings on the internal screen which contain references to teams you would commonly hear over the radio when a driver and their race engineer are in conversation, such as 'Strat 2' and 'Race Safe'.
As a final touch, the car also has a personalised number plate '63OG' - another reference to his racing number. Photos of the number plate show that it is registered in Monaco, where Russell lives.
The AMG One is just the latest Mercedes machine to be added to his growing collection of cars. Russell also owns a G-Wagon G63, a C63S sedan, an SL63, a GTS Coupe and, what is sure to be the most admired by lovers of classic cars, a 1970 280 SL.
At Mercedes, he is the team leader for the first time since joining the outfit following Hamilton's decision to leave at the end of last season. And he has settled into that role very well so far, scoring 73 points from the first five rounds of the campaign including three podium finishes.
Those results mean Russell is fourth in the drivers' standings heading into this weekend's . And he has a comfortable gap to behind him, too, with the racer 26 points adrift.
