Rylan Clark confirms 'secret' new romance with 'lovely' man after Rob Rinder rumours

Send Push

Rylan Clark has revealed he is in a new relationship, following ongoing rumours about him and his co-star Rob Rinder. The 36-year-old's revelation came during a chat with his co-star Lottie on the latest edition of his BBC Radio 2, Rylan on Saturday.

During the broadcast, the presenter discussed his How to Be in Love podcast, which recently featured documentary maker Louis Theroux. During the episode, the latter shared insights into his marriage and how he fell in love with his wife.

After Rylan aired a snippet of the show, Lottie cheekily asked him live on air if there was "something else" that was mentioned. What followed next was a playful back-and-forth where Rylan jokingly deflected Lottie's probing, before confirming that he was in a relationship.

He admitted: "I might have said that I'm... it feels weird saying it on the radio!". After his colleague pressed him further to confirm it was "real", Rylan admitted he had "kept it a secret for so long" and admitted that he was indeed "seeing someone".

Lottie went on to say that she and their colleagues had met his new partner and thought he was "lovely". Gushing over his new man, Rylan said he is "happy" and "very content", and admitted it had been nice to keep the romance under wraps.

Confirming his new love life status also led to the presenter shutting down the ongoing rumours about him and his co-star Rob. "Like, so many people keep asking, everyone keeps asking me - because there's all these fake news stories about me and Rob Rinder - we've gotten married and all of this. Rob's my friend," he shared.

"I adore him, and Rob and Rylan's just about to come out again, our passage to India, and I just thought, 'Let's just put the record straight'."

Rob and Rylan initially joined forces for a BBC Two programme called Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, a three-part series which saw the duo explore the likes of Venice, Florence and Rome.

In the newest edition of the programme, the pair explore India, taking inspiration from Rob's beloved writer, E. M. Forster, who penned the 1924 novel A Passage to India.

Establishing itself as a hit show, the duo claimed a Bafta Television Award for their work earlier this year, beating off rivals such as Race Across The World and Stacey Solomon's Sort Your Life Out.

Rob and Rylan also secured Best Popular Factual Series at the Edinburgh TV Awards. In reaction, Rylan headed to Instagram to post a picture of himself and Rob and to express their gratitude for the honour.

He posted: "Thank you for our @edinburghtvfest award for Rob and Rylan's grand tour. Means the world. We've come out for dinner to celebrate. Thank you."

Supporters also voiced their backing, with one individual commenting: "Well deserved, you bounce off each other, looking forward to another series from you both."
