Arsenal are among five teams in the Champions League to have secured victories in all three of their opening matches. Mikel Arteta's side will aim to maintain that impressive record this evening when they take on Slavia Prague at the Fortuna Arena. The squad are fresh from a 2-0 triumph over Burnley, which marked their seventh consecutive victory whilst keeping a clean sheet across all competitions.
The Gunners appear to possess one of the most formidable squads in the Premier League, following a succession of signings brought in during the summer transfer window. The depth of quality amongst the substitutes will prove valuable this evening for Arteta, given that several key players are presently unavailable.
With this in mind, Express Sport take a look at the current list of injured and suspended players within the Arsenal squad and when they might next be available for selection.
Viktor Gyokeres
Arsenal's £64million striker Gyokeres will be absent against Slavia Prague. The Sweden international was substituted at the interval over the weekend and is understood to have sustained a strain injury.
Arteta said on November 3: "No, he's definitely not available. He hasn't trained today. We need to do some more tests and scans in the next few days to understand the extent of the injury. But he's not available."
Potential return date: Late November.
Martin Zubimendi
Zubimendi is ruled out for Tuesday, having picked up three yellow cards in the Champions League. Arteta will be without the midfielder, who has enjoyed an impressive beginning to his Arsenal career.
Arteta stated on Monday: "It comes as well with the situation of Zubi. We know that. Zubi was on two yellows as well. That's the competition. At some point, you might miss players in crucial games. Obviously, we're going to try to avoid that as much as possible, but it's part of the competition.
Return date: Next Champions League match
Martin Odegaard
The Arsenal captain suffered a knee injury against West Ham a month ago. Since then, Odegaard has missed five matches for the Gunners, but a strong squad depth has mitigated the impact of his absence.
Arteta said in his press conference: "Well, we've looked at everything. Obviously, we have four knees, with Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Madueke and Martin Odegaard, which is very, very unusual, all of them with long-term.
"And then we have some muscular injuries with other players, which can happen and every club is having. I think it's very unusual to have that many players in the front line with issues.
"We have to face it. We've been facing it in a brilliant way, and we'll continue like this."
Potential return date: Mid-November.
Noni Madueke
The 23-year-old winger played six matches for Arsenal before a knee injury saw him substituted off in the Gunners' draw against Manchester City in September.
Potential return date: Late November.
Kai Havertz
Havertz, who has been absent from Arsenal's line-up since the club's opening Premier League match against Manchester United after undergoing minor knee surgery.
Potential return date: Late November.
Gabriel Jesus
The Brazilian star continues his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury sustained in an FA Cup match against Manchester United in January.
Potential return date: Late December.
Gabriel Martinelli
He suffered a knock during Arsenal's triumph over Crystal Palace in late October, has scored four goals and provided one assist in his 12 appearances for the Gunners this season.
Potential return date: November 8
