With the weather getting colder, many people are struggling with condensation and damp in their homes. Plus, drying laundry becomes a chore when it can't be hung outside, often taking hours or days to dry inside.
Many therefore swear by a dehumidifier in the cooler months, as it helps to get rid of excess moisture in the air throughout the home. Now, shoppers can get the Honeywell 12L/Day Dehumidifier For Home for £132.99 down from £169.80 at Amazon, saving 22% on their purchase.
The dehumidifier removes up to 12 litres of water a day, and is said to cost 5p per hour to run (based on 25p/kWh). It's nice and quiet, too, said to only be as loud as an average conversation, and it has four modes including a clothes drying mode that increases the fan speed for greater air flow.
It also has an auto humidity sensor, auto defrost and auto shut off modes, with a digital display and adjustable humidity controls so shoppers can choose the perfect setting for their home. The machine will alert users when the 2.5 litre water tank is full, but it also comes with a removable hose for continuous drainage to reduce the need to manually empty the dehumidifier.
If this dehumidifier isn't right for shoppers, they could try the Daewoo 12L Digital Dehumidifier for £79.99, down from £109.99, at Robert Dyas. This one has a 2.3 litre water tank, two fan speeds and a built-in humidity sensor, and is said to be easy to move thanks to its handle and directional casters.
Alternatively, Dunelm has its 12L Electric Dehumidifier for £120, which has two fan speeds, a timer, a child safety lock and three modes: auto, drying and sleep. It has an LED display and a full tank alarm too, making it easy to keep an eye on its progress.
The Honeywell 12L/Day Dehumidifier For Home has a 4.5 star rating from Amazon shoppers. One buyer said: "Brilliant Dehumidifier. Good size. Handy carry handle.
"First one we purchased was so good we bought another. All settings are very good and it's easy to use. We can sleep with this on during the night no problem, it's not too noisy and wake up with no condensation on the windows which is great. Delivered next day after purchase."
Another said: "First class delivery and the product is of good quality and does a great job especially with laundry mode.
Would definitely recommend to family and friends. Definitely value for money, does produce warmth."
A third added: "Purchased to aid drying clothes. Very compact and easy to move. Quiet. Does its job well."
However, some found it wasn't right for them. One buyer said as part of a four-star review: "It's a good machine. Louder than I expected but works well."
Another said: "The dehumidifier was doing its job well. The moisture and wetness were dried up very quickly. As its motor was so powerful, its noise level was considered a bit high."
