Gary Lineker is reportedly set to announce that he is ending his 26-year affiliation with the BBC one year earlier than planned after his latest social media row. The Match of the Day presenter landed in hot water last week after sharing a controversial pro-Palestine video on Instagram, which attracted accusations of anti-semitism.
The post criticised Zionism and featured a picture of a rat - animals used to represent Jews in antisemitic propaganda throughout history. Lineker has been under pressure to walk away from the BBC since, but he helmed the broadcaster's coverage of Saturday's FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium. However, he is no longer expected to helm next season's FA Cup coverage or work at the 2026 World Cup.
Express Sport provides regular updates on Gary Lineker and his BBC departure throughout the day...
