Critically acclaimed comedy-drama, Hacks, which has a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, dropped its fourth season earlier this month, but if you're yet to watch it, you can catch up on Prime Video. Viewers have been raving about the show for years, calling it "poignant, gutwrenching, knee-slappingly funny".
The Emmy-winning series stars Jean Smart as Deborah Vance, a legendary stand-up comedian whose Las Vegas residency is on the verge of collapse. Enter Ava Daniels, played by Hannah Einbinder, a young comedy writer cancelled for an ill-timed tweet. When the two reluctantly team up to revive Deborah's career, it kicks off a brilliant blend of clashing egos, dark humour, and unexpectedly tender moments.
Viewers have called the series "hillarious," "bitingly funny," "impossibly smart," and "one of the best shows about women in comedy ever made." Jean Smart's performance has earned her widespread acclaim, including an Emmy win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

The first two seasons are spread out over 18 half-hour episodes, making it easy to inhale as a fast, addictive binge-watch that you'll be caught up with in no time.
Even if you're unfamiliar with Hacks, you're sure to recognise its lead actress Jean Smart. The 73-year-old is an acting legend who has appeared in everything from Watchmen, Mare of Easttown, Frasier, 24, The Brady Bunch, Sweet Home Alabama and A Simple Favor.
At the moment, Prime Video only has Hacks seasons one and two available, while Sky Go and Now has all four seasons.
Back in 2024, Hacks creator Paul W Downs revealed they would like to make a fifth season but it is yet to be ordered by HBO Max. He told The Hollywood Reporter: "We pitched the very last scene in the very last episode when we were pitching the show, and we've always had a pretty clear vision of what the tentpoles of each season would be... Five would be ideal."
Meanwhile, co-creator Jen Statsky hasn't ruled out the possibility of going further than five seasons. She told Collider: "I think keeping the relationship fresh and making sure there are new places for Deborah and Ava to go, that is the beating heart of the show. If we found a way [to do more] that made sense, then maybe, yeah. But right now, [five seasons] is still the plan."
