has revealed that he is not the mystery F1 driver testing World Rally Championship machinery, contrary to previous reports. The Brit explained that Racing CEO will not let him get behind the wheel of rally cars, likely due to a fear of injury.
There has recently been a raft of speculation about the identity of the mystery WRC tester. This was first revealed by F1 insider Peter Windsor last summer, and ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, he let slip that Norris was the man behind the visor. "I know Lando is a serious WRC fan," he told the Cameron Cc YouTube channel. "And I hope I'm not giving away too many secrets here when I say I know he's been out in WRC cars and he's unbelievably good."
However, when asked about Windsor's comments ahead of the Saudi Arabian GP, Norris was forced to shut down the rumours. "I really wanted to come in here and just say 'Yeah, it's true'," he replied.
"But it's not. I'm not allowed. Zak doesn't let me drive rally cars, probably for a good reason. But I've said many times I would love to."

With no WRC testing duties on his plate, Norris can focus his energy on a fight for both World Championships. Despite a challenging weekend in Bahrain, the 25-year-old still holds the lead of the Drivers' Championship ahead of team-mate Oscar Piastri.
However, Norris is facing questions about his mental approach heading into round five of the 2025 season. "I'll just see as the weekend progresses," he explained when asked about his confidence on Thursday. "There are things that I'm, of course, going to come into this weekend and try and do differently, and learn about - have a different approach to things.
"Because I'm being forced in a way - not being forced by anyone - but in order to perform better, I'm being forced to drive in a different way, and in a different manner that I'm not used to, and that is not normal for me at all.
"So nothing is a guarantee. It isn't like I'm going to go out and things are going to click into place and I'm going to feel wonderful all of a sudden. But I think I just have a better understanding of things. Hopefully, that gives me more confidence altogether, but I have confidence in us as a team for getting the most out of the car."
