Amazon MGM Studios has chosen Dune's Denis Villeneuve and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight to direct and write the new James Bond reboot.

Although Daniel Craig's replacement has yet to be announced, that doesn't stop movements in the bookies' race.

28 Years Later star Aaron Taylor-Johnson has long been the favourite for the role.

And now his odds have been slashed from 5-6 to 1-3, further cementing his place at Coral Bookmakers' top spot.

Take it all with a pinch of salt, but there's no doubt that the 35-year-old (who is now an official ambassador from Bond watch brand OMEGA) would be perfect in the role.

"Helen Mirren has called for the next James Bond actor to be a man, and after that support, Aaron Taylor-Johnson continues to be heavily backed in our betting for the role," said Coral's John Hill. "Taylor-Johnson is now as short as 1/3 to replace Daniel Craig, with Henry Cavill and Callum Turner next best respectively."

Other stars in race include: 7-2 Henry Cavill, 5-1 Callum Turner, 8-1 Theo James, 9-1 Jack Lowden, 10-1 Scott Rose-Marsh, 10-1 Tom Holland, 12-1 Aaron Pierre, 12-1 Harris Dickinson, 12-1 Jacob Elordi, 12-1 James Norton, 16-1 Sam C. Wilson, 20-1 Tom Hardy.
