Goa stands fifth in India as CBSE declares Class X, XII pass %tages

Panaji: In both Class X and Class XII Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results declared on Tuesday, Goa recorded one of the highest pass percentages for a state in the country. Goa had the fifth highest pass percentage after Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh.

The Class X CBSE exam was answered in Goa by 1,182 students, of whom 1,175 — 578 girls and 597 boys — cleared it. A pass percentage of 99.4% (100% for girls and 98.8% for boys) was registered in the state.

In the case of Class XII CBSE results for Goa, of the 775 students who appeared, 760 — 373 girls and 387 boys —cleared the exam with a pass percentage of 98%. The pass percentage for girls was 98.7% and for boys it was 97.5%.

Navy Children’s School, Chicalim, saw Nishka Nundy score 480 out of 500 to secure 96% to top the school in Class X. Bismit Kumar Rath scored 95.8% and Ahana Dhar and Siya registered 95.6%.

School principal Anupama Mehra said that Agastya Dey of the Class XII science stream secured 98%. “Svarali Chaudhary had a score of 97.4% and Mohammad Sahil Hussain of 95.2% and were the other school toppers in the science stream,” Mehra said. “Prarthana Kamat of the commerce section scored 96.4% to top the school, followed by Arjan Singh Bhambra with 96%, and Dhruv Abhay Phadte with 91.6%. Shlok Sawant topped humanities securing 91.6%.”

She said the school registered a cent per cent result in both Class X and XII with 119 clearing Class X and 114 clearing Class XII.

Principal Joble Bijoy of Vidya Vikas Academy, Margao, said that in Class X, Akshan Gaonkar was the topper in the school with 98.8%, followed by Ritchie Flaviano D’Souza with 98%, and Schenaida Soares with 97%.

“In the Class XII science stream, the top scorers were Dimpsy Joanne Goes (95.20%), Keziah Marija Moraes (95%), and Rachel Squeenia De Souza (94.2%),” Bijoy said. “In humanities, Aarya Kamat had a score of 91%, Nawal Inacia Gauncar of 86.6%, and Kenisha Christabelle Mascarenhas stood third with 83.4%.”

Bloomz International School, Nuvem, registered a 100% pass percentage in Class X. Principal Anju Anand said that Shipra Hegde secured the highest score of 90%, followed by Samiya Khan with 86.6%, and Elvia Vaz with 86.2%.

“Their consistent efforts, disciplined study routines, and guidance from teachers played a key role in this success. We are extremely proud of our students,” Anand said.

In the case of King’s School, Sao Jose de Areal, the Class XII school topper was Shania Sousa (97.2%) and the Class X topper was Aanvii Chamaria (97.2%).

The head of Green Meadows School, Nagoa, Kiranjit Sodhi, said, “We are thrilled to announce that GMS has achieved 100% pass results in Class X with five of our students securing more than 90%. The first place went to Pulkit Gandhi with 97.8% and the second to Aarushi Parsekar with 97.4%. The third place went to Adwaith B with 92%.”
