Gurgaon: MCG commissioner Ashok Kumar Garg has ordered a comprehensive maintenance of the drainage and sewer systems in Sector 37's industrial zone.
The directive came during a meeting with the Progressive Federation of Trade and Industry, where industry representatives highlighted urgent infrastructure needs.
PFTI chairperson Deepak Maini highlighted various pressing matters, including the difficulties arising from ageing sewer infrastructure in Pace City 1 and Pace City 2 and the urgent requirement for sewer line cleaning in Sector 37 before monsoon.
"I have assured the industrialists that the issues raised would be addressed on a priority basis. All drains and sewers would be cleaned before the rainy season, and work on the major sewer line plan would commence after the rains. Additionally, all other issues would be resolved within a set timeframe," said Garg.
In addition, concerns related to repairing deteriorating water lines and drainage networks, installation requirements for new sewer systems, maintenance of street lighting across the industrial zone, and a proposal for establishing a club or community facility in Sector 37 to serve as a social space for industry personnel and workers were also raised at the meeting.
Also, the issue of excessive charges by the garbage collection company was raised at the meeting. PFTI Vice-Chairperson Dr S. P. Agarwal also emphasised the issues of sewer overflow and the condition of sidewalks.
