Janhvi Kapoor's bond with her late mother, legendary actress Sridevi, remains a cherished memory for the young star. As Janhvi navigates the global spotlight with her recent debut at the Cannes Film Festival, a heartwarming throwback from her early acting days is doing the rounds, a bike ride she shared with her mother just days before her untimely passing.

A Daughter’s Joyride with Her Icon

In 2018, Janhvi Kapoor was prepping for her Bollywood debut 'Dhadak', which required her to learn bike riding. Eager to show her progress to her mother, she took Sridevi on a short bike ride around their Oshiwara apartment complex in Mumbai. “Janhvi wanted to show her mother how well she was riding the bike, and got her to sit pillion with her, while she rode recently. This was a few days before they went to Dubai for Mohit Marwah's wedding,” a source told Deccan Chronicle. It was a simple but heartfelt moment, a daughter proudly sharing her growth with her mother.

Remembering Cannes Through Her Mother’s Eyes
As Janhvi walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival this year, she couldn’t help but recall how much her mother loved the French Riviera. In a behind-the-scenes segment for Vogue India, Janhvi revealed, “You know this place was my mom’s favourite place to come to for a holiday. We spent 3-4 consecutive summers here... It was like a big thing with us as a family.” For Janhvi, returning to Cannes is deeply emotional, a beautiful yet bittersweet reminder of family vacations and milestones shared with her mother.

Sridevi’s Presence Still Felt
From bike rides to film festivals, Janhvi continues to carry her mother’s memory with grace and affection. Whether on-screen or in quiet moments of reflection, Sridevi’s presence is a guiding force in her daughter’s life. “Every time mom would do something... or her movie was getting screened somewhere... we would be together as a family,” she said, emphasizing how closely their lives were intertwined.
