A multi-party Indian parliamentary delegation, currently visiting Russia, has strongly presented India’s stance against terrorism, especially that sponsored by Pakistan, across multiple high-level meetings and forums. The delegation includes MP Kanimozhi and Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta.

Upon arrival in Moscow, the delegation was welcomed by Indian diplomatic officials and later briefed by India’s Ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar, on various aspects of the India-Russia bilateral relationship.

The team then held talks with Andrei Denisov, Vice Chairperson of the Federation Council’s Committee on International Affairs, along with several Russian senators. During the meeting, the delegation detailed India’s resolute fight against terrorism, citing examples such as the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindhoor, India’s military response to Pakistan’s provocations.

The MPs reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clear stance on rooting out terrorism, urging global unity against forces fostering extremism. They emphasized the role Pakistan continues to play in nurturing terrorist networks and destabilizing the region.

Later in the day, the delegation visited the State Duma, Russia’s lower house of Parliament, and met with Leonid Slutsky, Chair of the Committee on International Affairs, and other members. They also held a crucial meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, where they once again highlighted Pakistan’s long-standing role in terrorism proliferation.

At the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies, the delegation met with Mikhail Fradkov, engaging in a strategic dialogue on counterterrorism and India’s unwavering position against extremism.

Speaking to the media, MP Brijesh Chowta said, “India has conveyed at every Russian platform that the global community must unite against terrorism and the nations that harbor it. Our delegation met with policy experts and intellectuals to strengthen international support for India’s position.”

The Indian delegation will participate in a key meeting in Moscow on May 23, after which they will proceed to Slovenia for the next leg of their diplomatic outreach.
